x-botteri is the equivalent of one of the woods...-guitarists by the same name. after that forest was slashed and burned, mista botteri was the first wood-head to compose and release new material. as he also was the mastermind behind most of the woods-work, this creative bloke found it natural to kick off composing on his own even before woods was put to rest.

his first efforts showed at his solo-debut called "raining gold", released early 2002-about fifteen songs of a very personal style that proved his talent once again. however, as "raining.." was a very low-budget recording, it never reached his greatest moments as a songwriter. besides this, it was a very experimental botteri the listener got to lend an ear to. for the first time, he did all vocals on his own, and the album suffered a little from the fact that it was his oral debut.

those of us who know this swedish/ italian- bloke, also know that this is a man that won't be stopped by such minorities, and already before the album hit the streets (pressed only in 50-100 copies), he had finished composing for his next opus, namely "love keeper of my soul". on the latter, we got to know a more available and less experimental singer/ songwriter-this time alot more confident in vocals and instrumentation.
"love keeper of my soul" was recorded at panikk fabrikk studio by jarle labdon during 2002, and was released by the end of that year.

usually, i'm pretty much updated with the man's activities, but i think he surprised more than my ass when he earlier this month (feb.'03) came by my little skate-shop with a copy of his brand new album "hard side". this, his latest work to date, is a collaboration with a german guy called j. hammerich which he met through his studies here in christiansand. "hard side" can best be described as some sort of a soundtrack-album. recorded at oddvar a: m's place, it's an album more ambient than previous works, without batteries of any kind and with the significant botteri-guitars riding on accompanied mostly by spoken words. definately an interesting addition to the x-botteri-catalogue, though i have the impression that it's not a regular release like the two afermentioned...

as far as i know of, there are no current plans for live-gigs etc, but if x-botteri continue to spit out material like he's done thusfar, i believe we can expect another album sometime in late 2003. maybe we can expect a release via karmakosmetix this time, but it's hard to say as the man have chosen to take care of such matters himself 'till now.
